1. The hill is largely treeless, being covered in rough pasture and scrubland. 2. The ridge itself is primarily chalk downland, comprising rough pasture with some scrub. 3. The 84-acre ( 34-hectare ) patch of rough pasture , near pilots. 4. The lowest land is saltmarsh, and there is also extensive rough pasture with brackish pools. 5. Sheep can feed on rough pasture which is unsuitable for cattle or agriculture, including mountainous terrain. 6. Sheep graze the island s rough pastures and there is a population of rabbits, introduced by shepherds after the 1912 evacuation. 7. Savernake Forest was not continuously wooded : Royal forests were a mixture of woodland, copses, common land and rough pasture . 8. The reserve is wooded, with some areas of rough pasture and herbs, and a large number of slow-worms. 9. The snipe's breeding habitat in Asia includes alpine moorland, grasslands, rough pasture , young tree plantations and cultivated areas. 10. The area to the west of the junction was once heathland and rough pasture which was part of the Royal Forest of Cannock.
